Saturday April 15th was a special night for sure! Thanks to all who joined us including Hopemore and Double Double. (special thanks to Rob and Tim for jumping in on guitars, and Bruce Daddy for the vocals) Great fun! The audience was ridiculously cool! What a fun night. Thirty years ago artists in London and Philadelphia performed at Live Aid to help North Africa, which was overwhelmed by famine, disease and droughts. Fast forward 30 years where the inspiration has culminated to bring artists in Tokyo. This spectacular event will help 6,800 people in Tsayte, Ethiopia gain access to clean water and on their way towards becoming self-reliant.
Last year we organized Africa Rocks in three locations, which were all a great success! Thanks to all of those who participated and donated, the people of Tsyate now have access to clean water! Now they, particularly the women, want to become self reliant with the benefits that the clean water brings. Africa Rocks II, aims to help these people by forming self-help groups and support them on their journey to independence. Africa Rocks II will help empower the women of Tsyate. Rise of Laka is a film that highlights the changes in Laka, the village next to Tsayte, which was provided water system 3 years ago brought by HOPE JP’s water projects. Mackenzie Sheppard Productions and Nameless Media bring us this glimpse into the life of the people of Laka, and how water has given new life to the people there.

1985年、北アフリカで起こった飢饉、干ばつ、蔓延する病気から人々を救おうと、イギリスのロンドンとアメリカのフィラデルフィアで20世紀最大のチャリティーコンサートともいわれるライブエイドが行われました。それから30年が経ち、ライブエイドに影響を受けた人々が集結。ホープ・インターナショナル開発機構（以下 ホープJP）今年も「アフリカロックス第二弾」 「アフリカロックスII」を開催します！『アフリカロックス』と銘打たれたこのイベントは、エチオピア ツァイテ郡の6,800人に安全な水を供給することを目的としています。
去年、名古屋、神戸、東京と３カ所でアフリカロックスを開催しました。ご参加していただいた皆さんのお陰で大成功でした！ツァイテ郡の6,800人に安全な水を供給することが出来ました。今年の「アフリカロックスII」では、安全な水が供給されたツァイテ郡の人々の自立をサポートする目的で開催します。

村人たちの生活環境は改善し、みんな健康になり、学校の出席率が大幅にアップ！
